This is an applied dreams project done in October 2004, applied dreams are two week workshops done at IDII. For this project the team went to Venice to see for our selves the envrionment and feel the Venice 'buzz'. After two intense days in Venice, we went back to Ivrea to brainstorm and design services and experiences for Venice. On the second day in Venice we woke up to a flooded city, on the bottom floor of the hotel there is nothing, the reception and rooms start on the first floor because the ground floor gets flooded. In the next 8 days we worked as a class then in the last 24 hours we split and worked individually. This is one of the concpets I presented.

Walking through Venice and its flooded again! This is Lisa she is a tourist in Venice, while she decided to go shopping for last minute gifts for family ad friends, she finds her self on a flooded street, but she persevers and goes on walking. As she keeps walking she bumps into a merchant on the street that is offering to rent rain boots. The boots can be rented with a new clean pair of socks, so Lisa can go along on her shopping day, dry and warm. |

| As Lisa is walking on down the streets, passing the canals and looking into shops windows her feet are dry. When she got the boots she was signed up on the boots network to which she can upload information or get information. She can view maps showing her the driest route and giving updates of the flood situation in the city. |

When Lisa rented the boots she handed in her wet shoes and chose the option to have her shoes dropped off at her hotel. This way she does not have to return to the rental point. |
