This is an applied dreams project done in October 2004, applied dreams are two week workshops done at IDII. For this project the team went to Venice to see for our selves the envrionment and feel the Venice 'buzz'. After two intense days in Venice, we went back to Ivrea to brainstorm and design services and experiences for Venice. On the second day in Venice we woke up to a flooded city, on the bottom floor of the hotel there is nothing, the reception and rooms start on the first floor because the ground floor gets flooded. In the next 8 days we worked as a class then in the last 24 hours we split and worked individually. This is the second proposal for a meeting point for tourists.

While in Venice (or any tourist city) after having walked around taking pictures with our phone of the things that captivated you. Another person in Venice at the same time would like to meet other tourists and see what they have seen while in Venice. They go to one of the meeting points at which you can sit at tables and have coffees while talking, sharing experiences and the pictures taken while in Venice. In the image above the man in purple has placed his phone on the table, which has downloaded the pictures to thee table interface. The man in blue has no pictures but would like to take some to show his family, the man in purple allowes him to take some of his.
The man in blue has also placed his phone on the table. By dragging the picture into his space he is copying and saving it onto his phone. The interface of the table also alows emailing pictures from the table. This allows people to share pictures while meeting new people and getting different stories and experiences of their travels in Venice.
